killbenedictcumberbatch:

Laverne Cox and Lupita N’yongo literally have inspired so many trans women and black women and have done so much to encourage them and meanwhile they are less influential than an ugly oatmeal reptilian alien and a manchild who wrote a scene where two pretentious…

It’s a metaphor

thebaeddeljar:

You put the trans woman of color right where you could admit she has a tremendous impact on our culture, but you never actually admit it.

When's Doctor Who coming back?

matthulksmash:

It’s on right now. Literally, right now. You just have to open yourself up to accepting that time isn’t a line and that all history is happening at the same time.

I visited Amsterdam recently and took a little TFIOS tour! I started at the library where John wrote some of the book and then went on a hunt to find the places in the book and got to meet another Nerdfighter in the process!

When I go to Amsterdam, I’ll be doing this.

What are your thoughts on Laverne Cox not making the time 100, despite her getting like the fifth most votes in the polls?

fishingboatproceeds:

Laverne Cox is the most visible trans person of color in the world and she has helped millions of people to learn about trans people and the discrimination they face. I think Laverne Cox is one of the most important and influential people in the world and should’ve been included in the TIME 100.

rachelovesklaine:

Cards Against Humanity is where you learn which of your friends are basic and which ones are sociopaths there is no in between

kyousuke-kamijo:

characters who seem really sweet and bubbly at first but turn out to have no problem doing absolutely horrifying things while keeping the same personality as they had at the beginning

and then they didnt put her on the final list

Disappointing.

your pasty ass was included on the list instead of someone who’s actually making a difference and all u got to say is “disappointing”

yeah and you had two WASPs makeout at Anne Frank’s house in your book and like…. what? Why are you on this list?

You’re placing the blame in the wrong place by attacking John Green. You need to be upset about the system. I’m not arguing that John Green deserved to be listed over Laverne Cox, she by all means should be listed. With that said, John Green did a lot for people who are terminally ill. He treated these characters as genuine people who are capable of falling in love and living a life instead of defining them by their disease.
Also, John didn’t say he deserved the award over others, he stated that he is disappointed in them excluding Laverne Cox. John Green takes his time to learn about privilege and fights for the inclusion of everyone.
